Getting to the racetrack

The racetrack is at the corner of Racecourse Road and Endeavour Valley Road, just outside Cooktown. There is a free shuttlebus travelling between the racetrack and Charlotte, Green and Hope streets and Racecourse Road from 10am to 3.30pm, with stops at Peninsula Caravan Park and Cooktown Caravan Park.

Accommodation

There are numerous places to stay in Cooktown and surrounding areas. Visit the Cooktown and Cape York website for accommodation and sightseeing information. Camping is not allowed onsite at the racetrack or on the grounds.

Food and drinks

There are two food stalls catering to racegoers from 10am until late, with a range of street food, sandwiches, sushi, hot meals, cold drinks and more. Grazing platters can also be pre-ordered by contacting Ashleigh at Wild & Wingy on ashleighmbear@gmail.com There are several licensed bars to keep punters refreshed – make sure to head to the ticket booth to get your drinks tickets before lining up at the bar. Please don’t bring any outside food or drinks to the venue.

Other services

There will be an ATM onsite at the races. There are mens, ladies and all abilities access toilets, plenty of shade and seating inside the clubhouse and on the lawns.

Our dedicated bookies will also be onsite for those wanting to have a punt on both the Cooktown and southern races.
